What AS Surface delivers

  • Engineering-grade CAD ready for manufacture or printing
  • Functional 3D printed parts in real engineering materials
  • Rapid prototypes, small-batch production runs and one-off parts

About AS Surface

AS Surface is the trading name of AS Surface Engineering Ltd, providing engineering design services and FPM additive manufacturing services for industry, workshops, and hobbiest applications.

The focus is on parts that actually have to work: jigs, fixtures, housings, replacement components, and small-batch production pieces that fit into real machines, real processes, and real world uses.

From initial concept to validated CAD and finished printed parts, AS Surface bridges the gap between “idea in CAD” and “part on the bench”.

Who AS Surface works with

  • Engineers and project teams needing specialist design support
  • Startups and product developers requiring rapid iteration
  • Workshops and industrial sites replacing or improving hardware
  • Automotive, motorsport and hobby enthusiasts looking for tailored solutions

Services & capabilities

From concept to physical parts: CAD, additive manufacturing, and small-batch production, tuned for functional, real-world use.

Engineering design (CAD)

Advanced 3D modelling using the latest 3D software for custom components, assemblies, mechanisms, and reverse-engineered parts. Designs are created with manufacturing and additive production in mind, so they are accurate, functional, and buildable.

Additive manufacturing (3D printing)

High-quality parts produced using FDM and resin printers. Materials include Carbon Fibre, Glass Fibre, PP, PLA+, PETG, ASA, Nylon PA12, TPU filaments, and engineering-grade resins. Suitable for functional components, housings, jigs, fixtures, and low-volume production runs.

Rapid prototyping

Functional prototypes delivered typically within 24–96 hours, depending on complexity and volume. Ideal for engineers, startups, and product developers who need fast iteration without compromising on dimensional accuracy.

Industrial & workshop solutions

Custom jigs, fixtures, housings, replacement parts, tooling aids, and machine components. Reduce downtime, replace obsolete parts, and upgrade equipment with practical, application-specific designs.

Automotive & motorsport parts

Custom-designed components for enthusiast and specialist automotive markets: mounts, brackets, ducts, trim replacements, garage tools, and performance-focused accessories designed around real-world use.

Small-batch production

Ideal for early-stage product runs or limited manufacturing. Consistent quality, repeatable output, and reliable lead times, with the flexibility to refine designs between batches as needed.

Selected work & capability examples

Hardware & Typical applications:

Bambu Lab printer farm producing small-batch parts

High-throughput printer farm

Multi-printer FDM setup for running small-batch production and rapid iteration in parallel, ideal for functional components and repeatable runs in Carbon Fibre, Glass Fibre composite filaments,PLA+, PETG, ASA, Nylon and more.

Selection of functional 3D printed plastic parts

Functional 3D printed components

Real-world parts including housings, brackets, tooling aids, and workshop fixtures printed in engineering polymers and resins for strength, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and durability.

Machined aluminium fixture used alongside printed tooling

Fixtures & hybrid solutions

Designed and Manufactured fixtures combined with printed tooling and accessories, allowing robust interfaces where it matters and flexible, easily replaced printed elements elsewhere.
